Hi Scotty please help. I have a 2004 Corolla with 120 thousand miles and around a year and a half after I bought it it started going through gas like crazy. I took it to the dealer and they checked the data and said the fuel trim and everything else was fine, what do you think it could be? Also when I turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or right it makes a scrapping noise. The dealer said it was because the rotors that are on the car are the wrong size. What do you think it could be?
I would never take a car to a stealership for service, particularly a car that's old enough to vote. Is your air filter OK? Do you smell gas (do you have a leak)? What they're saying about the rotors doesn't make sense to me - did the noise start after installing new rotors? Are your tires rubbing against the fenders at extreme steering lock?
I guess you'll just have to stick your head under there, and see what is scraping.
Sounds like a combination of too many troubles.
