- I am desperate. I have had a lot of work done on my truck in recent years. Now though when I go to start it the first time I have two red lights one (that says check gauges) is flashing red. The oils pressure is all the way down to zero. If you shut the vehicle off and start it again I get no warning light(s) and the oils pressure is in the normal range. No matter how many times I start my truck the first time says zero oil pressure second time says normal oil pressure and no warning lights. They are talking thousands of dollars for an oils pump and “who knows what” after they “get in there”. I used to trust my dealer after 30 years with the same service agents. He is “no longer there” and I have been “re-assigned”. HELP PLEASE!!! I am desperate.

First things first. Run away from that stealership and find a guy like Scotty, in your area. Ask the people you trust for details of an honest reputed mechanic.
Coming to your problems, get it diagnosed by an independent mechanic. Hopefully it’s just a straightforward fix like a bad oil pressure sending unit or sensor which has gone bad.
