Hello Scotty,

Hailing from Hamilton Canada. I want to buy a Toyota Tundra 2017 with 220,000 kms. It was maintained by the company for engine oil, but i dont believe the coolant, transmission fluid and differential fluid has been changed. It never towed anything and it is mostly highway miles. It also has a huge dent in the front passage side door. Should I buy it? Thanks.

Regards,

Sean

Have it checked out by an honest mechanic first. If he/she gives you the green light, sure buy it.

Don’t pay any premium though, because it’s high mileage, out of warranty & has a large dent.

It may be all highway miles, but if it wasn’t serviced as per the manufacturer's schedule, a few parts may wear prematurely and you don’t want to be stuck with that. Have it checked by a mechanic first.

I had a 2014 tundra. Best vehicle I ever owned. But I don’t know if I would buy a used tundra because used ones are so expensive. People who own them know what they are worth.
You will probably have a hard time finding a “good deal” on a used tundra, even with high miles and cosmetic issues.

High mileage car. If the price is ok, sounds like a good deal if your mechanic gives ok. One thing is the starter in these trucks are under the intake manifold and is a pretty expensive job to do.

I would personally buy an older one. Toyota hasn't really updated the Tundra since 2007. I have a 2008 Tundra that I love, I honestly don't know if I would even trade it for a new one if it was free. The old stuff just works. Or if you have more cash to spend, you could wait a couple years and buy the new updated tundra that's coming soon.

Very good car year and mileage means high way km. Get good bumper to bumper inspection and depends on the price
