Hi. Like Scotty, I’m a Toyota fan and user. I’m a DIY guy and my oldest is really getting into wrenching. I’ve wanted to find a project Yota truck to tear down and rebuild as a learning experience and spend time with both of my boys. Plus it’s fun to daily. What is the best year or model to start? I’d love a Land Cruiser but I’ve read they can be rather painful. Of course the mid 80’s pickups are phenomenal but I’m having a hard time finding one not eaten alive by rust.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

I would say your best to find a Tacoma or an earlier smaller Toyota pickup truck that isn't rusted out cuz the 4-cylinder engines are a lot easier to work on and parts are readily available. Aftermarket
