Hi Scotty. I have a 2004 GMC Yukon XL with 218,000 miles. I forgot to ask you in my other question what the difference is between Lucas Full Synthetic and Lucas High Mileage Oil Stabilizer. (I use conventional oil.) I called Autozone, got nowhere, and was "advised" to buy full synthetic oil. Guess the guy didn't know what he was doing. Thanks in advance!
Syn is man-made/engineered (from natural gas in many). Non syn is distilled. And I can only get my shine distilled so much... if I could engineer/assembly every molecule, now that would be some good PURE stuff!
So the additives Lucas uses are in a petroleum base and syn vs non is the base petroleum product the additives are in. Now I don't know if same additives are used but you can go to Lucas web site and look at msds on each product. Won't really tell ya much except if they are the same or different.
Really won't be a hill a beans difference but if you use syn oil, I'd use the syn additive...well actually, I wouldn't ever use additive in my oil, just change when needed. Unless it was a stop gap until I had time to rebuild/repair.
