I’m looking to buy a used car and I stumbled upon a 2004 Honda Accord for $1,800. Is it a good deal. The owner says it’s never been in an accident and had no mechanical problems. What do you guys think?
That model year is notorious for transmission problems.

No, that generation had lots of transmission problems. Car complaints named the 2003 model which isn't much different from the 2004 model as the 2nd worst car behind the 2002 Ford Explorer, mostly because of the high rate of transmission failures.
I would look at 2006-2007 since those solved transmission issues. At least with the 4 cylinder models.
As stated above Honda had a transmission issue in those early 7th gen Accord models. Honda also replaced a lot of those transmissions. If you slide under the front of the car and look at the transmission, there should be a black and white sticker on the bottom of it that says " Replacement " . If you see that, I wouldn't have too many concerns. Obviously test drive to make sure it's shifting correctly and pull the transmission dip stick to inspect the fluid.
