2004 Honda Accord v6 150kmiles

I own a 20 yr old Honda accord w/ a v6. It blew the #2 spark plug out of the head, no more threads. It's going to cost &5000 to repair. That's what the car is worth. I don't have the money for a new car. Should I repair it and start looking for a replacement? It is a daily driver. Please help.

You need to find a mechanic that will do the job for a more reasonable price.

I’m the original owner, it’s worth it to repair. My wife’s daily driver. Last year I put new tires, shocks & struts new window tint. Also had the a/c rebuilt, it’s clean. Thanks for your input.

Don’t pay that.  It is usually a simple fix.  Even DIY-able if you have the skills and tools.

Take a look at this old article:

What clown gave you that quote?

If ya wanna do it properly, a brand new head it $1264

This is the front one for a random V6 2004 accord on the first random website - so before buying anything obviously check if that's the parts you're looking for.

Alternatively, go a junkyard, get a head for that side - talk with them, if a brand new one is a grand, you can talk them down to a few hungered.

If you don't wanna get into the engine and replace parts - find a junkyard that warranties their engine that would be. like 2 grand to get it done and have at least a 90 day warranty.

Also @dad2lm2 's has posted something worth trying before going out and spending real money - it may last quite a while like that before needing a replacement.
