I found a 04 civic coupe 190k miles. Says it just needs a trans flush. Delay in gear shift sometimes.its automatic

He's willing to go $350. He said he took it to trans technology and they said trans fluid was oxidated. He says its dark red the color of it.

Says it sometimes slips when above 6k rpm

Says trans tech said just needs a trans flush.

Found a shop hr away from where car is, that can take all old fluid out using a machine and put new fluid in.

Says runs well otherwise.

Could it really just need a trans fluid change. It says its not grinding or whinning or anything like that.

He mentioned he did not have the funds to get it repaired. Fluid changed.

Located on big island of hawaii.

He said previous owner changed fluid apirl of last year.

Im wondering how it got oxidated in short time.

Anyways think good car to buy

Could just use for parts i have a 02 civic 4dr ex with 165k miles

If "all it needs" is trans flush, then he would have done that, and he wouldn't be try to sell it to you.

Run away.

For $350, sure.

Dont even think about buying it for reliable transportation. It’s on its last legs.

He did mention he got it towed home for 150 because didnt wanna damage trans

Well that’s the smoking gun right there..

Well a used trans from ebay is 600-800 with warranty

Trans technology charges about 1k to put it in can get shipped there

I was thinking fully draining the trans fluid, putting fresh in there and doing it again with half a bottle of lucas

It’s your money, but don’t get tempted by this can of worms..

It remind me this:

"The AC does not work, it only needs refrigerant."

Another perennial favorite is:

"Ran when parked."

I guess what would you expect for $350. If its a bomb around car, run it till it drops then discard it. I always laugh at those forsale ads that say "only needs a flush or refrigerant" {black}:scared:
