Hey all! Great community! My mom currently owns a 2004 Honda Pilot with 280,000 miles. It currently drives great and very dependable! Everything works! We know the first owner and the pilots been taken care of greatly beside some paint areas where it has chipped off and the paint a bit faded. My mom is asking if it’s worth repainting it and keep the car or should she sell it and use that money to buy another mid size car similar. It drives great, fixed check engine light just by changing the gas cap. and changed the cabin filter thanks to Scotty for helping us save money! Anyways should we keep it and repaint it or sell it?  I don’t know the average lifespan of Honda pilots.

How much would you get for it? My advice, put it for sale at a somewhat overpriced cost like $6000 and see what you get offered. If you like the price then sell it. Most likely the transmission will be the first thing to go.

A good repaint is going to cost a few thousand dollars. I wouldn't put that much into it myself. I would be a vote for you got your money out of it, now time to move on to something else.
