Your cheapest route would be to buy a used one from one of the reputable dealers online who will program your VIN and perform a "SKIM (Sentry Key Immobilizer Module) Delete" on the PCM.

Then, before you install the PCM, you'd remove the SKIM module from the steering column so the PCM doesn't see it and reactivate its SKIM  confirmation.

You can probably find these under $200

That said, are you sure the problem is the PCM? It's rarely the PCM. More often it's faulty Power or Ground issues to the PCM or a short in the wiring or in a sensor that's affecting the PCM

You will need a high level scan tool to reprogram the PCM - there is no way around it.   Find a mechanic who can do it for you.

I had some diagnostic test done they said it's showing the Power train control module is bad.

what kind of test?

Some kind of diagnostic test I'm not sure

some kind of test, eh .... Have you inquired about the price to replace the PCM?

I need to replace pcm

why?

I've replaced just about everything on this Jeep... It's a 2004 Jeep Liberty 3.7 I continue to get the P0172 code. I've replaced fuel injectors, spark plugs, coil packs, pcv valve, purge valve, map sensor, idle air control sensor, temperature sensor, air filter, oil,oil filter, checked for vacume leaks and o2 sensors. I'm loosing my mind on this car. So I had some diagnostic test done they said it's showing the Power train control module is bad... Not get the proper air fuel ratio lean fuel system rich. If anyone has any ideas please let me know
