Scotty, Just bought a used 2004 Acura MDX for $2300 with only 125000 miles on it from a family friend who hasn’t really used it a lot over the last few years as they have something newer. They kept up on the maintenance, granted there’s a couple of minor things wrong with it like a broken mirror that was easily enough replaced and 2000 miles ago they had the timing belt replaced and they provided a lot of the service records so I know when it was in for oil changes, maintenance, etc. plus they did it through dealership so it’s on a Carfax. There is one problem with that they had their dealer mechanic couldn’t find and my mechanic cannot find. Sometimes the power steering feels like it has no power steering and the steering wheel squeals when turning. The dealership could not find anything wrong with it but they had the power steering pump replaced the power steering pump at or around the same time they did the timing belt to see if that would take care of the problem, it did not.
It’s very random it’s not at any particular RPMs. Like today it was fine this morning drove to the store had no problem got done went to leave and acted like it had no power steering and the steering wheel squeaked when turning. I was like I was driving my mothers dodge colt in the mid 80s. Any suggestions? BTW I have one of those Blue Drivers that you recommended and it’s not pulling any codes either.
Do you have a new fluid for power steering?
