2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP - 71,000 miles on it - the antilock breaking system, stabilitrak sysytem, and one other control comes on once the giggles a little even though the car starts without any of them on. The check engine light never comes on. What’s possibly wrong? I’ve had the spark plugs changed, the transmission lines changed, and the break lines changed already. Since I’m now 68 and trying to survive on SS, I don’t know what to do. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. I live in the capital district of New York. One other thing: when these lights come on, it doesn’t seem to affect the way the car handles.

It's not clear from your description whether there are any symptoms other than antilock brakes etc. shutting off and warning lights coming on. Does the car otherwise drive OK? If so you can live without those features if not needed for state inspection.

Other than that the first thing would be to have the car scanned with either a GM "Tech2" factory scan tool or another professional-grade scanner than can read the manufacturer-specific codes necessary to diagnose those systems.
