TRD 4WD model with 4.7l engine and 110,000 km. Have replaced front brakes several times, but vibration when braking heavily keeps on happening. Rotors seem undersized (same visible size as ones on my wife's tiny Mercedes B200!! Is this a common problem? Can one retrofit larger rotors (doesn't look like there is room for this).
Original timing belt, but everything (other than brakes) runs beautifully. You said in recent You Tube that should be changed every 10 years regardless of mileage, but if visual inspection shows no degradation of the belt, should the change still bbe made?
68k in miles, since that’s a interference engine, I wouldn’t wait any longer.
Perhaps the rotors are junk or the wrong size, not really sure.
Rotors replaced several times with OEM quality units - hard braking causes problem to return. I suspect this is a design flaw (undersized rotors) but wondered about other folks experience wih Tundra brakes.
