2004 vw passat glx 180k miles
i bought this car yesterday but for some reason it wont accelerate uphil it drive good other wise but i cant seem to properly diagnose it and it also reverses good so idk what it could be

A nearly 20-year-old high mileage VW is not going to be the most reliable thing around. Didn't anything suspicious show up during the pre-purchase inspection? Have you scanned it for codes and data? How old are filters, spark plugs? Did you check fuel pressure or for a clogged catalytic converter? Is the transmission slipping (automatic) or clutch slipping (standard)?
