Hey Scotty I have a 5.4l that seized up on me due to the oil pump failing on me, I just traded my 1200$ car for it a week ago, it had 254.000km on it, anyways the body and frame are in perfect shape other then a few minor surface rust spots on the fender and around gas cap. I found a used motor for 1000$ with 195.000km on it so would it be worth getting and put in. My mechanic will do it for 2 grand, so after it’s all said and done I will basically only have 5200$ into the truck with counting my car I traded.
worth it or no ? Truck also has tons of new parts on it.

It is worth doing only if that motor is good you need some type of proof that it's good or some type of guarantee from the mechanic that it is good before you start throwing money into it and then everyone wants you to pay them for something that doesn't work. I've seen that a thousand times with other people
