I've got a 2005 Chevy avalanche 1500. When the headlights are turned off, all the back lights work as normal. When we turn the headlights on, the turn signals don't work, the brake lights don't work The only thing in the back that works, is the third brake light flash is pretty quick. There's no change when we turn on the brights.
What would be the next logical steps in diagnosing what the issue is?
Do I look at switches? Ground connections? Test continuity somewhere?

Check for failure of the ground system first. I pray it's not something crazy like a bad body control computer module
