Scotty, I bought a 2005 Camry back in september without a mechanic check and so far the car has had some problems. Every time I start and turn off the car the engine seems to have a smokey smell, today I turned the steering wheel and it started to squeak, Everytime I'm at a stop being stopped and hit the gas to proceed it started have a drag feel. Any idea on what's going on?
I would check if it requires a new valve cover gasket if leaks are spotted around that area.
Does it burn oil?
Sounds like you have 3 problems.
A valve cover leak causing the oil smell.
A worn drive belt or worn drive belt tensioner.
By "drag" do you mean lack of power? If so possibility a clogged catalytic converter. A clogged air filter can also cause a lack of performance.
