Service shifter light came on in my 2017 Grand Cherokee along with the check engine light for forth time since I have owned it. Unable to put it in gear and usually just shut it down, wait and fire it up again and it clears it. Looking at several forums and it seems that this has been on going issue with many other Grand Cherokees starting with the 2015 models. Any idea what the cause is and if there is a fix?

If it’s still under warranty, take it back to the dealer. FCA is notorious for electronic gremlins in their products.

Get rid of that car and never buy another jeep.
