I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche this morning I started it up to defrost my windshield the heat was working perfectly. I stopped at the store on my way to work and shut off my engine when I came back out and started it up my heat wouldn't work no air nothing. I tried every switch but nothing not even ac. Any advice would be appreciated.
GM has a lot of problems with the AC/Heat systems. In your case its probably the Control head has gone out but before we condemn it you should see what fuses it uses just in case its just a simple matter. if the fuse is good and the control head has icons but buttons do nothing...It has power but not commanding any modes. You might try to disconnect the battery and wait 10-15 seconds to see if a reset will make it come back to life....Try that first and keep your fingers crossed...
The blower motor eventually wears out. Pretty normal for a 15y old vehicle.
