2005 Dodge Caravan 250K - P0480 in freezing weather

O'Reilly's says my engine light is a P0480 code and that it's a cooling fan issue. If it's going to be freezing cold (literally in the zero degrees range) for a while, can I get away with not fixing a cooling fan or does that fan do other things beside cool something?

Please see the attached FSB regarding the code on your vehicle.  Thanks.

Never trust anything the dealership tells you.  You will have to research yourself whether or not your vehicle is subject to the FSB.

Despite the cold weather if your cooling fan is not working your engine may overheat in stop-and-go traffic.

The dealership said that my VIN wasn't one of the ones that the service bulletin applies to. 🙁

If I watch the temperature gauge, can I manage the issue until I can get it fixed?
