Hyundai Sonata GLS 2014 Constantly Burning Out Brake Lights

Hey scotty and his team. I have a question:

My mom got a Hyundai Sonata 2014 GLS three years ago and I have been taking care of the car. I have been getting issues with brake light, the bulbs kept going out and I kept changing them. I replaced the bulb with oem in July and this morning when I was dropping my mom at work, a police officer stopped me and said my brake light not working. I've checked and they are right.

I found this video online that recommended getting higher voltage lights or LEDs

https://youtu.be/9mjXFA1TMTI

What kit would you recommend?

I also saw some that come with leds both front and back.

Which are best to buy to be able to still pass inspections in texas?

I wanna get both headlight and LED light because I drive the car and I want to make it look cool

So was checking what would be right one to get.

Further inspection: the video does NOT suggest "different voltage bulbs", obviously all bulbs in a car of the class are 12V, just lower (wattage) output when using the "high" functionality (as in actually braking) - but that does not sound like a "solution" to me as they probably burn out in "low" mode.

So what yall recommend

I'm just gonna take my shot at vland gonna buy them during blackfriday so they prices go down not gonna pay $700 for all 4 also gonna buy Amazon warranty
Which I believe 3 years and gonna keep the old one
Is it possible if yall can tell scotty to do video about it this fault. It's not just me other people also some say there bulb has melted
Maybe they will do recall on sum

I really don't have anything to add to what the video you posted already explained.

The reason there's a problem with the lights on those Hyundais is because of the cheap lamp sockets they use.

They burn out because of excessive heat created by poor contact between the lamp socket and the bulb (arcing creates heat).

The guy in the video used a pick tool to pull the socket contacts out a little bit to get better contact with the bulb contacts. You can try that but it probably won't be a permanent fix. You should replace the tail light harnesses on both sides for a permanent fix and switching from the 2357 bulbs to the 1157 bulbs for the tail/brake light socket isn't a bad idea either.

As far as what brand is best (or acceptable by the Texas DMV) for changing the tail light assembly to an LED assembly, I don't have anything to contribute there.

Thanks for your always, excellent response @jack62.
