Hi, Scotty . I bought a 2000 Ford Escort SE with 125k miles . How do I check the transmission fluid ? Any tips or tricks ? I checked it after normal operating temp . The fluid levels are high . I just change it recently . When it down shifts around 30 or 40 mph from 60 mph .I feel alot of breaking. Goes away when I give it gas .
Please Help.

See your owner's manual. They are available online if you don't have one. You don't want your transmission fluid level to be too high, it can damage seals.
I would not expect that a 22-23 year old Escort has much life left in it.
