I have a 1999 ES300. I got a quick strut assembly and a sway bar to install. I tried it myself and with a friend but for safety reasons, my friend decided not to go any further and suggested to bring it to a mechanic or to a auto shop.
I went to American tire depot and they are charging $188/hr for labor if I give them the parts (which I already bought). Is this normal? where else should I look?
Thanks!
Considering how expensive everything is in that area it would not surprise me if $188/hour is on the low side. You could try a local independent mechanic rather than a chain shop.
Be aware that no mechanic is going to guarantee a job where the customer supplies the parts. Many will not even work on that basis.
