I bought a 2005 dodge Dakota. One owner 62k miles from a 72 year old. Great looking truck. But there’s now a check engine light for ignition coil spot 1. It’s a very very light hesitation/jerk/different ideal. I’ve had many people not even think there’s something wrong. Anyhow, I changed it. Took awhile and the light returned. I took it to two shops, one being a dealer. They said it could be the engine itself- might need a new one. I guess this is common on these? Any advice?
I should add it’s code P0301
change all the spark plugs and that one coil clean the throudel
Too early to get to the conclusion of changing engine. Besides changing the spark plugs, check the spark plug wires too. Check the vacuum leak and also clean the injectors too. These are main things result in the code you get.
As a precaution check the compression, cranking and running.
