I have a 2005 Chevy 2500 6.6 LLY with 297,000 miles. Its throwing P0340 & P0341. It cranks just wont start unless I jump it. Got batteries and alternator tested both are good.
I replaced camshaft position sensor still doing the same thing. This happen directly after I put a new water pump on it. Before installing the new water pump the the truck would start up just fine.
Codes say you have an issue with the cam position sensor.

OEM sensor or aftermarket?
Check to see if any wiring was accidentally damaged. Insulation can get brittle in 17 years, maybe some wiring got moved around and is shorting out. It's hard to imagine anything else that installing a new water pump would do to affect that sensor.
