Go for whichever has the automatic transmission
IMHO, the RAV4 is the better value, despite the Corolla Cross being cheaper. Why is this?
For the better part of its history, the RAV4 was built on the Corolla platform, ie the Toyota compact car platform.
Most recently, the latest generation RAV4 is built on the Camry platform, a bigger more powerful platform, despite still being slotted as a compact SUV. And the Corolla Cross is now built on the Corolla platform.
So by getting the RAV4 you are basically getting a Camry SUV instead of a Corolla SUV. Heck, if you listen to YouTuber Car Care Nut, if you look underneath the car, it looks like a Camry.
