Hi Scotty , the passenger side parking lights go dim . Turn signal doesn’t light , dash shows light at fault . Then all lights work , and so does turn signal . Then parking light is dim , turn signal shows fault on dash . This happens intermittently. I checked bulb , bulb socket , wires , fuses .  Freestar runs great otherwise. Ford wants 300 bucks to diagnose. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!  Thank you

Of course it's worth fixing if it runs well otherwise.

You can find used SJBs on ebay for around $120. About the cost of a new tire.

It's also easy to replace them. Usually just 1 bolt and several wiring connectors.

Watch some youtubes of guys replacing them so you see how the wiring connectors come off and go for it.

Buy one for the exact year of your Freestar from a reputable ebay seller with a free return policy. Being a 2005 you shouldn't even have to reprogram it.

Bad grounds can cause all kinds of odd electrical problems, check them. Switches are also potentially suspect on an 18-year-old vehicle.

Thank you . Ford said it’s a faulty Smart Junction Box ( that cost me $330) . Part is no longer available. I can get used , but wondering if it’s worth fixing at this point . Thank you for your input , greatly appreciated.

It's probably not worth sinking a lot of money into an 18-year-old Freestar.
