Hey Scotty, 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 HEMI making loud whirring/whining noise from engine bay area as soon as i turn it on. It idles okay and noise gets louder with revs and driving. I cant pinpoint the noise but i am suspecting maybe the Alternator? Any ideas and what to check first?

Get a long steel bar and put one end on the suspected rotating part and the other end to your ear. You will clearly hear if something is going bad. Alternator, PS pump, AC compressor, idler pulley, etc.

You can also remove the serpentine belt and check all the pulleys.
