Hello Scotty,

I have a one owner 2005 Honda Accord with the V6 (it was a retired couple) with 94k miles on it.  I had the timing belt done recently and the car is in fantastic condition.   Will probably keep this car forever!

Two questions for you.  On start up, usually first of the day it seems, the car lurches a little bit forward.  Nothing extreme, but it is noticeable.  When I had the timing belt done, I asked them to check the motor mounts and they said they look good.  I had the transmission fluid changed at that time.  No transmission issues except if getting off the freeway at a decent speed and braking, the downshift from 4th to 3rd is a little clunky.  Had the same thing in my last Accord, which was the same year, but had the hybrid engine.  Anything to worry about?

The airbag light comes on when I start it up about 50% of the time.  The red light that shows the driver and bag symbol.  I checked the Honda website for a recall and nothing comes up for my car.  I don't know if it was done already or if never needed to be for my model.  What do you think?

Much thanks!

Nathan

you drive older cars a lot of stuff you'll live with odds are the transmission is like your previous one and slightly worn but as long as it works drive it rebuilding that transmission is 35 to 5,500 dollar job to do it correctly
