Scotty I am looking for a cheap vehicle that I can use for my occupation (farmer) I need a vehicle that can go on fields, drive through mud and snow, and carry a bunch of tools as well as be a reliable daily driver. I can’t yet afford a used Toyota RAV4 which is the goal. I was offered a 2005 Honda crv 4x4 that currently works well but has almost 300,000 miles. Are these cars tough enough to take off roading and on long trips towing small trailers? Thanks.

I'm not sure the CR-V has the clearance you need for driving through fields. You might be tearing pieces off. It sounds like you need a truck.

I don't think SUVs fit your needs because you're going offroading in the fields and hauling. I suggest finding a truck like a Ford Ranger or Nissan Frontier since you said you can't afford used Toyotas.

Find an old K5, Dakota, B3000, or Ranger 4x4. Between the cow crap and mud in most farming environments Crossovers aren't going to cut it...

We always use side by sides (UTV's) for that type of stuff on our farm. Prevents damage to the ground as well.
