Hey Scotty,
I saw a 2005 Mercury Sable with 67k miles going for $1,200 online. Are they decent cars in reliability and as a daily driver? Or trash on wheels? Also is it a good deal for a beater car?

They are known to have weak transmissions and other problems. That thing is nearly 19 years old which is probably longer than its expected useful life. The low mileage is extremely suspicious.

Obviously $1200 doesn't buy much. If it runs and drives OK and passes a pre-purchase inspection - and you can live with the idea it might only last six months or so - then what the heck.
