seems to be stuck on AC
wont blow hot air..
pulled control out of dash and the cables are working.
ac compressor keeps cycling and blowing only cold..
2005 sentra 114k miles just bought from private party last week and was blowing hot when I drove it home.set to blow face and feet still blows cold..
I can see the cables moving and hear the flaps moving.
one core hose is warm the other cold..
bled air out of system as best I could..
seems ok..
seems like it is stuck in ac mode..
What controls that other than the cables on the dash control ?
it nice out today(40) but more snow coming this week..!
any help would be appreciated..

even if it didn't have anything to do with what I was working on..

I guess "as best I could" wasn't good enough. Get a burping funnel off Amazon or Ebay and try burping the air out of the system again.

I agree with @Doc.
If the heating system in your car works just fine, then it should overcome the AC. You most likely have air inside the system.

I got the cheapest no-spill kit I could get nearby on my way home from work from Harb. F.
guess they should call theirs the "almost no spill" since the cap doesn't fit the radiator...cap is too small to clamp correctly
"cheap junk"...should have spent 20 more at A.Z. I guess.
but it worked.. Got heat now.. will see tomorrow when she drives it to work, if it keeps working..

now to get another rad.cap for the car and drill out the old one to fit the funnel..!

With tools that don't get used often try amazon next time, chances are it'll be cheaper & if the first doesn't fit you can exchange it for the right one at no cost.
Happened with my power bleeder due to an error in the listing so I was sent an adapter that fit my master cylinder free.
The cooling system bleeder I got works good but I can't always plug in my compressor.
well..
had heat until it was turned to defrost..
now it blows cold again and the hoses to and from heater core are cold again..
I don't see how it could get air in it just from changing from face to defrost..!
and even in face and floor setting the compressor is running.. (off and on..)
so must be some other problem..
the guy I bought it from said he just put a water pump and radiator on it..
with the price of gas sky rocketing because of this Ukraine stuff..
It would be nice to have a warm little car for her ..
Sucks because it was fine when I bought it and drove it home..
It was cold out but didn't turn it to defrost (didn't need it at the time)..
Heater was working well..
it was 30 degrees and sunny out on a Sunday..

now to find the plug for the compressor..!
so..I pulled out the AC relay..
compressor is disconected now..
I hear the idler pully making a little noise and can see it's not running true..
need to replace that.. !
also the belt is shot..!
will try re "burping" the coolant tomorrow after work..
I'm thinking the last guy made a small coolant leak that is bleeding air back into the system..
I'll have to take a really close look around..
