2005 Subaru Forester 174,500 miles:
1. Buzzing sound at idle heard near front under hood. Sound increases when accelerating, decreases when decelerating. My mechanic said the alternator is fine, it's the AC unit going bad. AC still works but can a novice mechanic like me replace it on my own?
2. Clunking sound heard while going over bumps, especially on the front passenger side. Sway bar bushings?
3. My mechanic is seeing oil leaks on one side of my engine. I've changed the oil as per dealership recommendations with synthetic oil. No leaking yet on the ground, nor signs of burning oil yet. Any suggestions to mitigate this issue?
Thanks Scotty for your great work. Keep it up!
Thanks forum for your answers.

One question per topic please, per forum rules.
Replace head gaskets. Subarus of that era are notorious for blowing head gaskets and they leak externally before they blow internally. If you're lucky might just be the valve cover gasket. Use UV dye to locate the actual source of the leak.

Chuck, sorry about the multiple questions. Should I ask those in separate posts?
Yes, be sure to included vehicle information so people here don't have to search that out in your original.
