I have a driver side cv axle that is slightly leaking and the boot has oil on it. Where is a place to fine quality cv axles for my 2005 Toyota Avalon?
I have looked on Autozone site and they look like they have a axle with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. I don't know what that means exactly, just want one that will last. My vehicle currently has 150k miles and I want to give it to my granddaughter who gets her DL next year.
You can get OEM parts from Toyota.
if its for your grand daughter isn't worth the time to do the other side as well ?
Passenger side was done at 107k miles in 2014. The one on the driver side that is leaking is the original. I am going to have my mechanic go over it to check all safety items before I give it to her. Just brought new Goodyear 80k mile warranty tires.
THIS is family so you don't want to chance ANYTHING as much as possible to happen which would impact you in anyways.. The other axle should be okay. But again in regards to family....better safe than sorry as much as possible. best to you and yours...
Rockauto has a wide selection of parts. Their prices are pretty good too

Lifetime warranty means they'll give you a replacement part if you find a manufacturing defect. "Limited" means there are limits on what is considered a defect. You have to read the fine print to see what those limits are. Generally, manufacturers are pretty generous because they'd rather have a good reputation than lose a few bucks.
