Hello Community,
2005 Toyota Corolla 170,000 miles
Did a coolant flush, drain n fill , but now the car blows hot air from heater once the car has warmed up. Once driving it for a while the temperature gage runs normal.
The vehicle warms up fine as before but now I’m seeing a small leak that appears to be right where the oil pan.
Radiator, the drain plug for radiator are dry.
Not sure what could be causing for the delay of hot air when the heater is turned on. Vehicle warms up normal, temp gage goes up to operating level, and vehicle drives like before.
only issue now:
1. air blows from heater but takes longer to warm up
2. Small Leak near where oil pan but might be different fluid.
Id be grateful for any tips, thanks in advance!
For the warm up issue, you may have some air in the system.
Regarding the leak, what is the color of fluid?
Yeah it might be air , what be a way to remove that?
From the looks of it it seems more like coolant because it wasn’t shiny like oil.
Thanks for responding!
For the bleeding, follow this video:

If the leak is coolant, you should have a leak somewhere in the system. If you can not find it easily, use UV dyes:

Awesome I’ll check these out ! Thank you !!
Park the vehicle facing uphill or jack up front end. Turn heater setting to High. Start engine and allow to run for a while. Check coolant reservoir. This should get the trapped air out of the system.
Thanks doc I’ll give that a try!! Thanks for the quick responses
