2005 Tucson alternator

My 2005 Tucson runs great but recently has an issue.  AWD model, automatic, v6, about 240,000KM.  Was dead in the morning so boosted it.  Battery was old and would not test properly at the local shop so replaced the battery.  Started and ran but was not showing proper charge so we had the alternator tested - was bad so we also changed that.  About 2weeks later, dead again.  Shop said alternator was bad so it was changed again.  Good for about 3months then dead again and alternator again bad so changed again with a Bosch higher end model.  Good for another few weeks then giving trouble again.

My daughter is using it for work, only starting and driving about 5-7min trip to work in the morning and back home in evening.  Is it possible it is not running enough to properly charge the battery in that short of time?  Should I install a solar battery maintainer or trickle charger to let it top off the battery all day while at work?  If so, is there a recommended model or two to look for?  Or is there another issue you would suspect, or something common to these vehicles that I need to get checked out first?

Thanks for the help.  Love your videos, I watch them often and recommend to others also.  Hoping for a good idea on the Tucson.  We like it and it runs well otherwise, as long as it will start.

Regards,

Travis

5 minutes is not enough to charge the battery. She should plug it in to a charger/maintainer overnight.

Well you could try a solar battery charger if she parks it outside in the sun. I'm assuming the vehicle though has some type of electrical short. You might try my video fixing battery drain on your car Scotty. It's on YouTube or have a mechanic do such testing or you could just disconnect the battery when you shut the car off for long periods of time

Scotty also says find another mechanic
