2006 Cadillac STS, V6, 65,000 miles. Won’t pass emissions in Atlanta, GA. Shows the code related to the common problem with the stretched timing chain. I’ve owned it since new looks like new and everything else is great.
1. what is the approximate cost to have the timing chain and Tensioners replaced?
2. Should the water pump be replaced at the same time? What will that add to the cost? There’s nothing wrong with it now.
3. Is it worth having it done or can it happen again?
thanks
I don't know the prices on Atlanta but it's going to cost you a whole bunch of money anywhere to have that Cadillac engine worked on. But they can often run okay that way there's normally a way you can get around inspections if you look hard enough locally and know anyone who runs junk yards or repair shops out in the country
