Dear Scotty, does a 06 Dodge Charger 5.7 hemi hold up overtime if properly taken care of. It was made by DaimlerChysler. And do they have problems?

If you take care of it the main maintenance is change the oil a lot change it every 5,000 MI and don't idle the car too much the engines were not made to idle well the cam can wear that way

But Scott, it is has a new engine in it because the previous owner decided to go all the way top speed and it blew up the engine but they told me they updated the lifters and new camshaft as well pretty much a new engine with better parts. Is it still reliable?

Don't believe everything "they" told you unless "they" have receipts and work orders to back it up.

My short answer: no. They can last, but over 100k miles you'll be replacing parts pretty frequently.

The engines have a problem with bad roller lifters that seize up and grind down the cams.

It has a brand new engine with updated lifters and cams, read post in reply to Scotty.

The problem is the vehicle as a whole was not designed well, and besides the powertrain that model year suffered from fuel system and electrical issues.  You didn’t say what mileage yours had but if it’s already past 100,000 miles I would start looking for a different vehicle.  See below:
