Hey there!
My GF has a 2006 Ford Focus. Car runs and drives pretty good still. Engine runs great, but she doesn't know if the transmission fluid has ever been changed or not. Car has about 166k miles on it but the fluid is brownish red when I wipe the dipstick with a paper towel. Would it be safe to change the transmission fluid and filter?
It shifts okay, just a little slow.

I would personally leave it alone if you don't know the history because it hasn't been changed you change it now it might slip like mad
