Hi Scotty. A friend just purchased a new Porsche Macan. I tried to convince her to go to Lexus instead but to no avail. I heard they have oil leak issues and they usually need new fuel pumps around 50,000 miles. What is your take on them?
Oh certainly they are fun to drive but generally they become endless money pits as they age unlike the Lexus
Macans are currently best Porches you can buy, … from Porsche, … that is! If you wish to buy one. Locally (Calgary, Canada), pretty well all Porches are leased, … used one are cheap, … most are trashed. Depreciation is horrendous, … if you own one and you want to sell it, you will get just a fraction for it.
Anyway, first three years are not too, too bad. Actually quite good, other than maintenance is quite pricy. But if you happen to do have some problem, watch out! Those turkeys in service bays just don’t know how to fix them without screwing up something else in the process. Consequently, repairs keep compounding and become more and more serious, … to the point that lot of Porches are returned to leasing companies prematurely. … but they sure are best handling sport SUVs
