2006 Ford Taurus not cranking up

I have a 2006 Ford Taurus and it will not start. It stutters when I turn the key.

Took the battery and alternator to AutoZone and they said both were good.

What other possible problem(s) can it be besides it being old😁

Try some starter fluid.

I don't grok what is meant by "stuttering" in this context.

If you mean the starter doesn't crank fast enough, do a voltage drop test on your battery cables. If battery and cables are good your starter is probably bad.

On the other hand if the engine cranks OK but is sputtering and not running properly - how old are your air and fuel filters? Spark plugs? Do you have adequate fuel pressure at the fuel rail? Does the engine fire up strongly using starting fluid? What do codes and live data reveal?
