Hi All, I took my 06 Toyota Highlander into Toyota dealer for multi point inspection $170 cost. So they said it looks good except that it needs a timing chain cover seal and a new transmission seal which will cost $1200 total to fix both items. The Toyota maintenance guy said that the timing chain cover seal will stop any small oil leaks and the same for the tranny. Any thoughts? Should I get this done ?

A $170 general inspection is already overpriced, but 2 new seals for $1200..??
You are getting hosed. But then again, you're the one that went to the dealer.
Find a trustworthy mechanic to inspect the car.
Hi, I don't see any leaks from my end but they did see leaks.
Ask them to show you all the leaks in person..
If there are indeed leaks, take pictures & post them here please.
