I am looking to buy a Mazda 3s Sport wit 125000 miles, automatic transmission. It will be from a private party. I am a pretty good shade tree mechanic so I know the basics to look for. Anything I should know about these cars? Should I avoid it all together? Thanks.
Only thing to check besides basics is get a good look at the suspension if you can in general, particularly rear sway bar links tend to get loose over time. If the guy has paperwork all the better.
Do you consider it to be a good car? Nothing I have found says it’s not other than those cars may burn oil

It’s alright, not amazing or anything but not bad at all.
at that time Mazda used to be just a slightly cheaper version of Ford products. (Unlike now that Mazda has split from Ford and started making some of the best cars on the market)
