I bout a 2006 mazda rx8 runs but chk eng light on. Codes read P0661 and code P0443
Evaporative. Emmision system purge. Control valve system
Intake Manifold Turning Valve Control circut. Low
My funds are low and know lil about Rotary engins what to do ?
It runs okay leave it alone the first code is just anti-pollution code who cares the second code has to do with the intake system to give it extra power that cost a fortune you often have to replace the runner intake manifold assembly it runs okay personally I'd leave with it those cars were massive failures that's why they don't make them anymore you don't want to put a bunch of money into it
I would ask what’s your mileage. Those rotary engines long about 90k the apex seals are about shot. I rarely have seen any above 110k. Then it’s new engine time.
Drive it as is for as long as you can. Rotary engine mechanics are few and far between and none are cheap. You'll spend more on repairs than the car is worth with that second code.
Mazda RX-8 are money pits, and even harder to own if your funds are low. Not a good choice in vehicle to buy.
