My 2006 sequoia makes a very annoying squeaking sound when I put it in reverse. I have taken it to a mechanic and they told me nothing wrong with the car , what do you think it could be ?

well if it only does it when you put it in reverse and it does it if the car is not even moving then you have some type of minor flaw inside the transmission. But if the car has to be moving a lot of times the rear brakes will squeak when you're backing up when they start to wear or if they were cheaper brake pads installed and once the coating wears off they start to squeak

It ONLY makes the noise when I’m in reverse especially when I reverse on my steep slope drive away , the mechanic said the break pads are in good condition though .

The break pads have never been changed on the sequio. I have the same ones that I had when I bought the car.
