Greetings, Scotty, like your channel. Very informative, thank you! Last year I've imported a 2006 Mustang V6. My first American car brand. Love the look of the car and the sound of engine(dual exhaust). My car is about 130K miles and here comes the problems. Recently i changed rail pressure fuel sensor, saw the problem with a scan tool. Now my interior fan is gone. And also left window is not going up when i close the door. Well about the fan- the car had a water leak in the past on the passenger side where Smart Junction box is located. I had cleaned with a contact spray but still the fan is not working.(New SJB is $500 which is crazy) I've searched in the internet and people say that there is a resistor sensor behind the passenger's air bag. Will change it soon, hope it's a fix(also checked the fuses and relays). About the front left windows not going up, also read that there is a sensor inside the door which tells the car that the door is closed. Before this problems, this year i also change a sensor which starts the cooling fan when the engines is hot. That sensor was broken and after some drive in the city and is shut down the engine, the cooling just goes out from the cooling reservoir.I know that this car has many sensors but still... my firs car was 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS with the 4G63 engine...(fall in love in it) had it for 7 years. It was a bit more the 130k miles(225K kilometers to be exact) and for that time I've changed the clutch, a belt for the A/C, a door handles(which a weak spot for this model) and basically that was it. No problems with vent actuator, door actuators, fuel gauge sensor, stepper motors on the instrument cluster panel. Now have an oil leaking from oil carter. Bad gasket. So I'm disappointed so far and a bit scared to drive this car. Not to mention that you can't fill up completely the car with gas because of a strange problem with the tight neck.. So the question is: Is that all normal for this car to break so often(the Mustang)? Any way.. i think i am going to sell it. Now I'm making a research about panther platform cars in particular Town cars after the year 2006 or Crown Vics(LX, not police version)what are their problems. Kind of long letter...i know. Have a nice day, Scotty...
American cars just don't age well, sports cars no exception.
I've had these same problems on my Mustangs before and it is basically shoddy electronics. As the car gets older, you'll find all of these items and more need replacement. If you don't like to tinker, I'd recommend selling it now.
