2007 Avalanche

I recently had a fuel line leak at the fuel pump connection and had my local mechanic install a new fuel pump. At the same time I had him put in a new battery, since the old one was 5 years old and beginning to become unreliable.

when I got the truck back the fuel leak was gone but the electrical system was haywire. The oil level and pressure gauges were intermittently coming on, a headlight went out, the dashboard gets all scrambled, the shifting occasionally was off and the radio spontaneously turns itself off and on and off, about every 5 -15 seconds. The mechanic thinks it may be an ignition switch or a loose ground wire (he says theres probably 10 or more on the truck).

I disconnected the negative side of the battery for an hour to make sure the ECM reset its self but it made no difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks - getting ticked off & desperate...
