Hey Scotty! So I originally wanted an s2000 but they seem to go for $18,000-$30,000 from both private sellers and pre owned dealerships. Then I came across a 2007 bmw 128i with 76,000 miles with an automatic transmission for $7000. Would this be a bad alternative?

Not even comparable in terms of reliability. Get a Miata instead.

Used BMWs make foe entertaining YouTube videos due their unreliability and maintenance cost, but as a daily source of transportation BMWs are bigger money pits than a politician’s pet project. In fact the reason for many these “I bought the cheapest BMW in the country” YouTube videos is the prove what a Broken Money Wasters used BMWs really are
