Hi, I recently replaced the alternator in a Corolla with an alternator i bought from CarParts.com and now after running the car for a few minutes the 100A main fuse blows (twice). What should i do? am about to bring it to mechanic. Could the new alternator be bad?

Could the new alternator be bad?

Yes, new parts are frequently bad. Before condemning the alternator double-check that it's wired correctly with no short curcuits.

it only wires one way

it's more likely you have a short or failed electrical device that's drawing too much power.

well it worked okay with the old bad alternator it would just not charge the battery enough but all the electronics would work just needed to recharge the battery/jump it

unhook the battery, and put a multimeter in resistance mode on the pos and neg battery cable terminals. There shouldn't be less than 1 ohm.
