2007 ES350 Timing Cover Leak

Hi Scotty,

It seems I made a mistake buying a lexus. So much for quality. My 2007 ES350 with 49000 has a timing cover leak. I am surprised it is not a recall. Can any seal put in the car stop the leak? Should I even dare to have it fixed. Was told the engine has to be pulled for such fix. Any suggestions?.

I have one without a leak (but with 107,000 miles on it). We can swap if you like. I'd pay a good mechanic to have it fixed. 😆

No thanks. I will pass. Not fixing it getting rid if it. Junk of a car

Looks like you are not alone and apparently there was a TSB issued for it (EG010-07):

(on carcomplaints:  top 3 issues for 2007 model year)

Have you tried going to an independent shop that has worked extensively on Toyota’s/Lexus and getting a quote on the repair?

Call a Lexus dealer to see if they will cover the repair cost.

Nope. They want $4400. So much for lexus bs. What a piece of Junk of a car. Only 48000 miles.
